In fs22, they definitely got better at this, and videos don't do it justice. Some maps fixed this by adjusting light effects and although it did look better, it didn't quite look as nice as it does in fs22 on vehicles and machines. Base maps suffered from overexposed lights which made the game look bland, too bright and saturation was weird. It's not a question about if it can be added, it's a question of how many years after it's a standard in other games, will it be added.įs19 introduced a better lighting system compared to the previous versions of the game. In FS22, everything stays dry and the rain even clips through vehicles. Wet materials can be done in a similar time frame. You can blend between two textures based on heigh map and weather in 30 minutes in a modern engine, creating nice snow accumulation and melting effect. Just like the DirectX 12 support and Temporal Anti-aliasing were marketed as new, yet UE4 has had them on by default for years. Similar to multithreading or camera occlusion, that doesn't render occluded objects - has been used in games for at least 20 years already. Stuff like Parallax Occlusion Culling from 2005 was added to FS in 2021. I don't think there is a feature that can't be added later, but If you know of specific bottlenecks or inefficiencies caused by the engine in a way that can't be updated in a future update to the engine (and I'd imagine actual developers like modders do), please cite them.
