The Library doesn't actually contain any music?its contents consist of a listing of pointers to MP3, AAC, and other files stored on your Mac. ![]() The files that make up the iTunes Library are organized by artist and album and by default are stored in the following directory: Home/Music/iTunes/iTunes Music/ However, each track is actually a file stored on your machine. You can find the location of any song in your Library by selecting it and selecting File, Show Song File ( -R).
